Applicants are invited for the position of Research Assistant / Research Officer in the College of Engineering, reference AC00329. The main task of the post will be concerned with the research work on sediment transport and seabed morphodynamic modelling at potential sites of marine energy extraction using Widely used and well established coastal area models.
The main duties include producing relevant research reports, present research outcomes to the research consortium, attend project meetings and produce the final report on sediment transport and seabed morphodynamic modelling. The postholder will also be required to make technical presentation at relevant local and international conferences, seminars and workshops.
Applicants should have a degree or post graduate qualification in coastal engineering, Oceanography or a related field and a PhD would be desirable. Applicants should also have experience of working with industry on collaborative research projects and of working in a semiconductor clean room. It would be desirable for applicants to also have the ability to run sophisticated equipment and manage a Laboratory as well as working with exotic semiconductor materials and experience of fabrication of PV cells.
