Due to development of its business relating to monitoring in the marine environment, HR Wallingford is seeking to recruit an oceanographer / marine scientist.
The successful candidate will have a degree in Oceanography or Marine Science and will have significant experience as a marine surveyor, specialising in physical measurement (sediment concentrations, currents, waves, temperature, salinity, etc.)
The role will involve:
analysing and interpreting complex datasets assuring quality in marine survey reports and data designing, specifying and costing marine monitoring programmes undertaking scientific research providing written reports and advice In addition to an excellent technical and practical knowledge, the successful candidate will have very good writing and communicating skills.
A knowledge of dredging would be advantageous but is not essential.
