Interested in an opportunity to contribute to sustainable Fisheries Management in the South-West Atlantic? The Fisheries Department has a vacancy for a Scientific Fisheries Observer for one year in the first instance. Observers are required to spend periods of up to five weeks at a time at sea to collect biological and other data on ships fishing primarily in Falkland Island waters.
* Hold at least a BSc in a Zoological or Biological subject * Be computer literate * Be enthusiastic, and have the ability to work alone
This position offers:
* Eligibility for a 15% gratuity payable on successful completion of the contract * Flights to and from the Islands at the start and end of the contract * 50 days holiday entitlement * Shared accommodation to rent when on land
