Position Summary The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences, Environmental Science _Program, at Qatar University, Doha, invites applications for a full time position at the level of assistant or associate to begin September 2013.
The position is three years renewable. The applicant must be able to teach under graduate and graduate courses in marine science, chemical oceanography, and climate change. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Marine chemistry or a relevant scientific discipline at the time of hire with research experience in the field of Chemical.
Application Deadline: 30-Oct-2012 Position Category: Academic Employment Type: Full Time Position Term: Three Years Renewable Duties and responsibilities: 1.Teach general courses in marine sciences, and chemical oceanography using multidisciplinary approach. 2.Employ modern tools of multi-disciplinary science to develop research area in marine science to understand issues related to the ocean system, such as ocean-atmosphere and/or ocean-land interactions, and biogeochemical processes and modeling. 3.Preparing research proposals, and augment dissemination of research findings for publication in internationally reputable peer reviewed journals. 4.Supervise students research projects and thesis.
Competencies: 1.Demonstrated excellent teaching record at established international universities and higher education institutions in Marine Sciences 2.Demonstrated strong research record and publications in Chemical Oceanography 3.Proficiency in spoken and written English
Qualifications: 1.A Ph.D. in Marine chemistry or Chemical Oceanography 2.Teaching experience (3 years or more) 3.Publication with clear research agenda
